I saw this idea on Pinterest and had to make one for my house!

 I used a plastic canister that chocolate candies came in, I removed the paper label by washing it off with warm soapy water.

I cut several pieces of paper all the same size. I used my hole punch and a metal ring to bind them together.

The idea is to write down special events, moments, and memories that happen throughout the year. My Grandparents came to visit from Florida, I made a page about that. Then at the end of 2012 you can go back and read all the entries.

I leave a pen in the jar and encourage my friends and family to write on the pages too. A quote, advice, a memory, anything special they want to write down

Just one egg, one cup creamy peanut butter, one cup light brown sugar. Mix well. Then I roll the dough into balls and roll them in white sugar.

I add the kiss right as the cookies come out of the oven. (Bake 11 minutes at 350)

I start mine with browning 1 lb hamburger in a large skillet, then use a strainer to drain the grease from the hamburger, and use a paper towel to wipe down the skillet

Chop some celery and onion and add to the hamburger, cook low/med heat on the stove

Cook rice and frozen veggies (corn, carrots, peas) according to their packages

Add cooked rice and veggies to the skillet

Add 1 or 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup (depending on your taste) and approx. 1/2 cup milk (add gradually until desired amount is reached in the skillet)

Serve with crunchy chinese noodles

(I like black pepper on mine)

I have several New Years Resolutions. One is to use up my craft supplies! I’d like to create cool new stuff with all the fabric and yarn I have in my craft room. So I didn’t waste any time getting started.

I gathered my bins of yarn and sorted through the skeins. I decided I would crochet a blanket using leftover skeins of yarn from various projects. All the skeins I used have the same texture but I used a variety of different colors that somewhat go together.

This blanket was really fun to make. It’s colorful, light as a feather, very soft, and really warm! And by using leftover yarn, it’s got the “green” appeal to it. Like a quilt, I’m piecing together my scraps of yarn into something amazing.. (hopefully).

I used my hole punch and some ribbon to add a little something unique and fun to the card.

I used stamps on the inside. It reads, “May your troubles be less and your blessing be more and nothing but happiness come through your door”

I thought maybe I would make some felt friends with my sewing machine instead. I started with Zee, from Nick Jr.

The beak, eyes, and flowers were sewn on by hand.  

The pink felt is glittery! I love it! This is a very simple project, but it’s fun and she’s so cute!

The original cushions are green corduroy that look very worn out. I purchased some tan-ish colored fabric from WalMart that I thought would look much better.

I made the cover a lil big, but the cushion still fits nicely on the foot stool. And it’s way better than before! As a bonus, when I remove the cushion I can use this stool as a mini couch-side table for my pop and snacks And the cushion also makes a good floor pillow when an extra seat is needed.

The owl is basically a square shape, 3 sides (front, back, and bottom) and it’s stuffed with craft stuffing.

First I cut all my pieces. Then I sewed the button eyes onto the fabric square that I cut for the front of the Owl. Then I sewed the wings, belly, and beak onto the front piece of fabric with my machine in a fun orange color thread. Then I sewed the owl together. I left an opening to put in the stuffing.

Peeled & chopped apples, graham cracker crumbs & brown sugar & cinnamon make this soooo tasty!
