More and More Crocheting!

I haven’t added much to my online store lately because I have been busy working on orders. I had a few requests for black and white matching hat and scarf sets. I also had an order placed for a grey infinity, a couple requests for red and crΓ¨me scarves, and I crocheted a matching hat and scarf set for my friends New Years gift. She is hosting a party so I’ll bring her a little gift πŸ™‚ and I think I’ll make Rice Krispie bars as well! Mmmmm, yum! Plus I crocheted myself two new hats with yarn I received as a gift on my birthday πŸ™‚

Craft Show, Christmas Presents, and other things…

Life has been very busy. October, November, and December go by really fast. And then it’s Hello New Year!

October went well. I was Minnie Mouse for Halloween πŸ™‚ We carved pumpkins and decorated inside and out.

November was good too. We celebrated Thanksgiving with a great big feast. And I also hosted a cookie exchange party which was a lot of fun. Every guest had to make 6 cookies for each of the other guests to bring home. So we had around 700-800 cookies at the party. Plus everyone baked some for us to eat and enjoy at the party. It was a very fun time!

In December I was at a craft show as a vendor to sell some scarves, hats, and blankets. It went really well and I had a great time!! πŸ˜€

Yesterday we had a gingerbread house decorating party. It was so much fun. Everyone really got into their creations!! πŸ™‚

Shawl Weather

Here comes fall, and winter will be following soon after. I found this beautiful yarn at the store and couldn’t pass it up. I made this cute shawl / cowl / neck warmer:

Enjoy Life

It’s been a very hot week! Temps have been over 90 degrees F for the past 7 days. I absolutely LOVE it! πŸ™‚

I’ve been spending a lot of time at the beach instead of crocheting, writing to pen pals, and doing crafts. My skin is still warm from being there today πŸ™‚

White, Blue and Green PomPoms

I made these cool pompoms as dΓ©cor for a baby shower. I made a few all white pompoms too but didn’t get a photo of them unfortunately. They were fun to make, my littlest niece even helped me make the white ones. I used several sheets of tissue paper and ribbon. I found white tissue paper at the dollar store which was perfect! But was only able to find blue and green at Target which costs a little more. And the white from the Dollar Tree was larger than the colored sheets from Target so I had to cut them all to the same size. Each pompom is about 18-20 sheets of tissue paper.

Some of the pompoms we hung from umbrellas over the tables. Some we pinned up against the deck railings. We pinned them flat against the deck railings so they looked like flowers.

I will be making more of these tissue paper pompoms! They look cool, they’re inexpensive, and they’re fast to make. I think they would make cute bedroom dΓ©cor for the kids’ rooms.

Boy or Girl?

My dear friend is having a baby this fall. It’s pretty exciting, so of course I had to make her a baby blanket πŸ™‚

She hasn’t found out the sex of the baby yet. So I chose a soft cream colored yarn. The border is multi colored with hues of blue and purple even light green.

I finished the blanket today after working on it for a couple weeks. I could have done it faster if I worked on it every day. But I wasn’t in a rush.

I used a size J crochet hook. The blanket is done in a simple (perfect for baby) single crochet stitch. I made it big enough for mom and baby to cuddle together or cover up with. But small enough for a toddler to carry and drag it around the house.
