It’s been a while since I used my crochet skills to make something out of yarn. It hurt so good. LOL. My hands ached a little but my brain loved being creative with my hooks again!
I spent about 2 hours making these throughout the day. They are small. Probably women’s us size 5. I started with a chain of 20. Crochet a square. Fold the square and sew up the back. Drawstring closure on the front. Then sew up and around to build the boot. Makes sense, right? π
Simple pattern that I found on youtube a long time ago but works like a charm.
I make my first square and then my second square. Kind of working on both boots at once. It helps me make them the same size!
They’re pretty thick and durable because I use 2 strands of yarn at once. I do single crochet throughout the entire boot. Nice and tight stitches.
This project doesn’t use a ton of yarn. The bigger the size, the more yarn you will use.
I bought 2 skeins of Dark Orchid.I use 2 strands at once so I crochet from both skeins at the same time. I made these booties and have plenty of yarn leftover to make another pair.
Being crafty is so fun π

It’s been a busy summer and it’s going so fast! I’m not ready for fall quite yet. I’ve managed to find time for some crochet projects, a lot of gardening, and of course 4th of July fireworks!!
Here are a few recent photos. I’ve been crocheting headbands & harvesting tomatoes:

I like crocheting granny squares but you have a lot of ends to weave in. It takes a lot of time to finish the product. I made a couple blankets by attaching all my squares together and a couple blankets that are a single large square. Both are fun in their own way.
Here’s a couple photos of some recent work:
You can create several different looks by deciding how many colors of yarn to use. I am currently working on a large granny square blanket done with one color of yarn.
It’s a good way to use up some leftover yarn around the house too.

I went to a crochet class recently. We crocheted one granny square in a little over an hour. It was pretty fun. I like the pattern. It was a small group; 1 teacher and 5 students.
I went home and a couple days later I started to work on a granny square baby blanket that is one big square (instead of several small squares put together). I wanted to use yarn I already had at home since it was still sort of practice for me. I found some white, black, and red and made a little blanket.
Now I am making several small granny squares that I will piece together to make into a blanket.

I’ve been up to some crocheting, as usual π
I have been doing a variety of projects…scarves, hats, leg warmers, arm warmers, plant holders…
Here are a few new photos:

I LOVE neck warmers. They’re so simple to toss on with any outfit and head out. These are incredibly soft and super warm! They look great and are very comfy π
They’re fast to crochet. I used a large hook, size K on these. And I used bulky or thick yarn. The cowls can be worn a few ways to create different looks: rolled down, folded over, standing up, scrunched down, up over the head and ears…
WalMart and JoAnns Craft store have some nice yarn to choose from. So much yarn, so little time!

I wanted to crochet a cozy cover to go around my ugly black pot for a while and finally I made one (it took no time at all really). Maybe with below zero temps, my plant will stay warmer π The crochet looks better than the black plastic at least. I also made a pink and black hat to match an infinity scarf I made recently. And I finally put a border on this yellow baby blanket that I made a while ago.

I’ve been making a lot of hats and scarves lately. I thought I’d crochet a bag to switch it up. It’s a basket style bag, meant to hold yarn, toys, magazines, etc. I love this yarn, it’s so colorful and fun.

I haven’t added much to my online store lately because I have been busy working on orders. I had a few requests for black and white matching hat and scarf sets. I also had an order placed for a grey infinity, a couple requests for red and crΓ¨me scarves, and I crocheted a matching hat and scarf set for my friends New Years gift. She is hosting a party so I’ll bring her a little gift π and I think I’ll make Rice Krispie bars as well! Mmmmm, yum! Plus I crocheted myself two new hats with yarn I received as a gift on my birthday π
